VA Comp also known as Visual Art Comprehensive is an entry level high school credit course. This course satisfies the VA Comp requirement to take more advanced art classes in high school. This class covers a wide variety of artistic methods, styles, art history, and more. This class is a yearlong course so we are able to study much more in depth. This class is usually best for students who are interested in taking other art courses in high school and are interested in art. Assignments are much more advanced than other art course assignments here at Griffin Middle School.
Students who take this course are required to have a digital portfolio and will be creating websites to house this portfolio. Cobb County also requires a minimum of two common assessments over the course to be completed as part of their requirements. Students will be instructed on how to create their websites and upload work as required.
