This year in 8th grade art we will be exploring more advanced techniques and art making. We will be using a variety of mediums like drawing, painting, printmaking, ceramics, and hopefully if we have time some fiber arts. We will be strengthening your student’s understanding of the elements of art and principles of design through the projects we create in class. My hope for your student is that they increase their creativity and their ability to make art that represents them. 
The supplies needed for this class are a spiral bound 9 x 12 sketchbook, 2 art HB pencils, and a white polymer eraser. These supplies can be found at any art supply store like Hobby Lobby or Michael’s, Walmart, Target, or some office supply stores.
